Tim Flowers, have you ever...

...tried a danger sport?

"What do you call a danger sport? Playing in goal for Blackburn? Don't be cheeky! If you mean things like bungee jumping and hang gliding, stuff like that, then no, no way. Forget that! I don't fancy doing anything really dangerous like that and putting my life at risk!"

...got roasting from the manager?

"Oh yeah! Stacks of times. I think everybody finds that during their career someone will have a go at them, and every manager I've ever played for has had a pop at me at some time or another! They think you should have done this, should have done that, but it's only ever been for on the field stuff. If they're right, you agree with them, there's no point arguing with your boss."

...been the victim of a dressing room prank?

"Yeah, definitely. I've had Deep Heat put in my pants so that when I pulled them on I got roasted nuts! That sort of thing goes on all the time. It's also not unusual round here to find that your trousers have been thrown in the bath or the ends have been cut off your socks so that they go right up your leg when you pull them on. It's all pretty harmless fun though."

...been mistaken for someone else?

"Yeah, Richard Gere and Robert Redford, ha, ha! There was one time, actually. We were playing Newcastle at St James' Park in the third round of the FA Cup and it was live on BBC. I was walking up the steps at the ground and Des Lynam was standing at the top. I saw him looking at me and I was pleased because I thought he recognised me. So I said, 'Alright Des?' and he said, *Hello Chris.' He thought I was Chris Sutton!"

...played against a hero of yours?

"My hero when I was a kid was Coventry's Tommy Hutchison. I've played him twice. He played for Swansea at Moulineux when I was at Wolves, and when I joined Southampton we played Swansea at The Vetch Field in a pre-season game and he played in that one as well. He was a fantastic player. In fact he was recently voted Coventry's all-time best player."

...given up on your boyhood team?

"No. I used to watch Coventry week-in and week-out when I was a kid and I still always look out for their results. But I look out for a few now. I look out for Southampton results, and Wolves results, the clubs I used to play for."
